Welcome to Our Website!
Bay Area Bisexual Network is based in San Francisco with members from all over the Bay Area. Our mission is to develop a healthy, vibrant, multicultural bisexual community in the San Francisco Bay Area and to promote better understanding of bisexual lives and issues within the larger lesbian, gay, bisexual, transgender, queer (LGBTQ) community and the public.
What we offer:
- We have two email lists. You can join our events list, for a low-volume, moderated list for events of interest to the bisexual community.
- Or, join our chat list for a free-form discussion of whatever you fancy. Or join both (in true 'fencesitter' style <wink>).
Go to Queernet.org to subscribe and enter babn-chat and/or babn-events as the lists you want to join. If you're having trouble joining, just send us an email
- We have a facebook group where light banter, events and information are posted
- Information and referral
- Cultural & social events
- Monthly peer-support group
- Informational web site
History: The bisexual community has had a growing presence in the Bay Area since the mid-sixties and seventies. Out bisexuals within the Sexual Freedom League, National Sex Forum, San Francisco Sex Information, the Institute for the Advanced Study of Human Sexuality, the Radical Therapy Collective, the Gay Liberation Front, and the Peace, Civil Rights and Women's movements built the foundations upon which BABN and BiNet USA now stand.
